Meadows Regional is Georgia's only hospital with two 160-slice CT scanners that use 3D imaging to help physicians diagnose heart and vascular disease. These state-of-the-art, multi-detector CT scanners provide never-before-seen speed in capturing images with the utmost clarity and detail along with very minimal radiation exposure.


Our radiologists and certified technologists diagnose cardiovascular conditions and evaluate orthopedic injuries using the most advanced MRI in the region. In addition to providing a more comfortable and quieter experience/atmosphere compared to older MRIs, the new open MRI makes joint replacement surgery even more precise and can detect breast cancer in the earlier stages.

The department’s newly advanced ultrasound provides parents with both 3D and 4D images of their developing baby's face as early as the 32nd week of pregnancy!

 

All technology is linked by a secure digital network that allows data transmission across the hospital in an instant. Through the hospital’s state-of-the art picture archiving and communication system (PACS), physicians can now send images to outside specialists for consultations or compare in-surgery images with diagnostic images within the surgical suite.

The integration also extends into the hospital’s new cardiovascular lab. If a cardiologist is performing a diagnostic procedure and discovers the patient will need immediate surgery, he or she is able to send images from the procedure room directly to the surgeon for immediate preparation of surgery.
